When i upgraded Windows 98 to XP Pro., some of the older
unneccessary W98 files were still on the hard drive. So
after just recently purchasing a WD 120gb hard drive, i
wanted to reinstall XP on this drive, and format the 20gb
drive, allowing me to start all over. Everything went
well: i moved all files i still wanted to the 120 and
installed XP on it. I restarted my CPU, DOS recognized
the second XP, and i started it up. Everything went fine,
but for some reason, it didnt have that trademark XP
login window (the one with the cool little pictures for
each user) it was the older windows 98/2000 logon window
(just a box on a blue background) now i know that
really it doesnt matter what it looks like...im just
curious as to why it did that.

I used the same installation CD for both drives, so why
the difference?

Hi, Evan.

It's all there, but you probably made a different choice along the way -
without realizing it.

Go to Control Panel | User Accounts and click Change the way users log on
and off.
