am really new to xp and don't understand why i can't save
directly to the cd like on win 98. what if pc crashes and
stuff in temporary folder is lost before coying to cd? i
want to save directly to cd every day without closing cd
and can't seem to do that. please help!!

You need a CD Burning package that supports packet writing - Nero or Roxio
are two of the most popular.

You need a program like Roxio EasyCD - you probably had something like that
on your old machine.
