Internet and network hang after SP2

After installing SP2 on two machines, I have the same problem on them both.
Every so often the network connection (both the LAN and the Internet) hangs
for a couple of minutes, then will continue to work.
While it hangs, I am unable to ping anything (including other local machines
by address or name). According to Zone Alarm, I do not have any traffic
going in or out.
The other machines (non XP Pro SP2) all work fine, it is only the two SP2
machines that this happens to.
Any ideas?
