Mike Kolitz & Nathan McNulthy,

I have one question and a few remarks.

Is it also "intended to work this way" that my Canon MPC 600F is no
longer working under SP2?

I know it's easy to blame Canon for this, but many people are severly
disadvantaged by this problem and as I read many more who are suffering
other "unexpected" hardware problems.
No, the Motherboard doesn't need any new drivers and for my problem
there is no solution as yet, Nathan.

It's clear that many people are frustrated when trusted hardware
suddenly fails to work the way they expect. It is in my opinion not a
good thing to make fools out of them.

I understand that, eventually, SP2 is built for the good of all of us
but at this moment there are too many people with problems.

Best Regards,

Frans Romeijn.

I am going to be blunt here. Your hardware not working after installing
Service Pack 2 is Microsoft's fault. Their Service Pack seems to
overwrite or alter many drivers throughout the system. This can often
times be fixed by reinstalling the drivers. It shouldn't be this way,
but Canon needs to release SP2 compliant drivers/software.

SP2 was built to help with security, but there are so many things that
can go wrong along the way, that it shouldn't surprise people. It
shouldn't happen, but it shouldn't be surprising either.

Frans;
Have you checked with Canon?
Some experience issues with various Canon products and Canon released
a patch a while ago for that very purpose.
Have you installed the latest windows XP drivers?
