SP2 Problems Galore

[Scooter]

Downloaded and installed XP SP2. Now any program that
connects to internet doesn't work. Outlook, IE, AIM all
open up but after about 10 seconds exits and shuts down
the application. Excel, Word, Powerpoint and other
programs work fine. Uninstalled SP2 and it got same
results. Clues?

You may check your new Security Center that SP2 installs. It turns on the
Windows firewall which is probably blocking your access. Automatic Update
may also be turned on.

I also have had this problem. I have added the programs to the exceptions
list and the ports they use and still it happens. i have even resorted to
turning off the firewall to see if it was related and still the problems
arose.
