Seems to me that on my old WIN 98 computer I had a context menu option to
view the Target properties when I right clicked on a shortcut. Seems to be
missing on WINXP. Was it there and I killed it? Or was that part of a WIN98
Power Toy?
Thanks,Dave

Not quite sure what you mean by "target properties." The target information
for a shortcut is available in the Properties sheets. There are some settings
in Folder Options> View that control the small tooltips that can show some
file information too:

"Display file size information in folder tips"
"Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items."

NOTE: If there is text in the Comment field of Properties, that will be
displayed instead of the usual path or file information.

you have to right click the shortcut and then go to properties. There you
will see a target section. You will also see a button at the bottom for
"find target"

Sorry,
I should have explained that I understood how to get to the target
properties in XP, but I was looking for the quick context menu item which
David referred to. I have the WIN 98 version somewhere, so I will install it
on XP. Thanks David and all..
