I installed SP2 and had multiple problems. Unistalled SP2
and all "hotfixes" and can open & use all applications
that don't go to the Net (Excel, Word, Adobe, etc.). IE
now freezes and Outlook (my email app) will open for a
couple of seconds and then close. I wish I wouldn't
have "upgraded to SP2". Any thoughts on how I can get IE
and my mail to work fine. BTW, I am using a router and my
other two PC's (non XP) work just fine.

Save/backup all your important data, format and do a 'clean install! Sorry!

Then - - - stay the hexx away from sp2!

Do a google for 'sp2 problems' Nearly a million hits with 40 pages of items/articles, etc.

Scott;
Perform a Repair Installation:

Are you sure your computer was ready for SP-2:
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/spackins.htm

Without the Service Pack and the hotfixes, you have left your computer
vulnerable to many things.
The hotfixes are not part of SP-2.
They were installed prior to SP-2.
If your computer was fine before SP-2, the hotfixes were not the
problem.
