Had memory dump; sent error report; was advised to
download XP SP2. Did so and bam! Windows would not load.
Tried to reinstall windows..and somehow got two
copies..one that works..one that doesnt. Upon reboot of
XP SP2 received message: unable to start windows..missing
file ....inf\bios.inf or something to that effect.
So.......can someone help me b4 I go nuts? I'm blonde,
not stupid.

I have the same problem and can not seem to find anyone
who knows how to fix it. I've tried to uninstall the
service pack - and that did not work. PLEASE HELP

The simplist solution I have for you is to completely
wipe out (reformat) your harddrive and re-install
windows. One way is, if you have an extra hard drive,
make it the slave and format it from the master. Or just
do it from a boot up disk (for some reason this process
fails me from time to time).

Sorry not better answers, I guess for me I'm not
blonde, just dumb. :)

Can you tell me how you un-install the sp2 service pack2?
And when you do, does it simply revert to normal xp?
(that is to say, xp sp1 is still usable after
uninstalling sp2?).
