Laptop is slow after SP2 install - faulty

I just attempted to install SP2. When I did, the install froze during the
final steps and I had to restart. When I restarted it literally took my
laptop ten minutes to load up. My laptop used to load incredibly fast.
My laptops specs are:
Dell inspiron 8200
1.7 ghz cpu
512 megs ram
Win XP SP@ build 2600
1.2 gig harddrive
over 700 megs free

Check with Dell for SP-2 compatibility on that model.

Are you sure about your hard drive?
You do not have enough space for Windows XP, much less SP-2.
