Freezing at bootup with SP2

I have tried installing SP2 and 2 separate computers that
have Windows XP Professional, with 2 different
configurations. On both computers, after SP2 is installed,
the computer gets to the background screen and
freezes...no icons and no start bar. Is this a common
problem? Does anyone know if there is a fix yet?
