View Full Version : SP2 and vbs.searchwww

Ever since I installed SP2, I've been bombarded by IE
windows opening up pointing at http://vbs.searchwww.com.
I ran Lavasoft's Adaware and Spybot Search & Destroy, and
neither took care of the problem. All of my research
links this to SP2. I saw one solution directing me to
Windows/Downloaded Program Files & to delete something
with a lot of "F's" in the name (sorry can't remember the
exact name) and instructions on how to then delete it from
the registry - but I didn't have that program in my
Downloaded Program Files.
Any ideas?

It has nothing to do with SP2. Run these programs. In particular you
might need to run HijackThis.
Cwshredder

Bazooka Adware and Spyware Scanner

Pest Patrol Free Pest Scanner

If you’re still having problems after running these then run HijackThis
and post the log to one of the specialty forums, _NOT_ this one.

Good luck and post back with the outcome.
