I have been using Outlook Express for years and never
received this message before. "OE removed access to the
following unsafe attachments in your mail". I never saw
that before. I sent the same small Word file to my own
EMAIL address and opened it ok on 2 computers but got the
message on one of them. The computer is brand new and XP
came preloaded. Any ideas out there on this one?

The problem is due to the Virus Protection features in Outlook Express 6.
To resolve the problem, please disable the Virus Protection feature in
Outlook Express. By doing this, you can get rid of the message.
To disable the feature, please visit the following Microsoft site for
instructions:

Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a
virus option should be unchecked.
In short:
1. Start Outlook Express 6.
2. From the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab.
4. Deselect the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that
could potentially be a virus check box" under Virus Protection.
5. Click Apply and OK.
For more options ( to allow OE to open only certain file tyes) , please

Your copy of OE could be defaulting to safety options that are overly
conservative. Check Tools > Options, and click the Security tab. If the
check box labelled "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened..." is
enabled, then disable it and see if that rectifies your problem.
