Windows Update

What settings / precedure do I need to follow so that my
computer (Windows XP Home edition) will automatically
check the Microsoft site for updates and notify me that I
need to review and / or install? Used to have icon in
task bar, no longer present.

Right click My Computer. Select Properties. This will bring up the System
properties screen. Click the Automatic Update tab. Select the settings that
you want to use. Click OK. NOTE: The update icon will only appear in the
Notification area of the taskbar (formerly called system tray) when it has
something to notify you with.
