I recently added another User to my computer (as a
backup). Ever since, Standby Mode has turned itself on. I
want to shut it off. I've tried going to Control Panel >
Power Options and setting System Standby to "Never",
unchecking Hibernation, on both User accounts ... but it
keeps switching into Standby Mode. How do I get it to stop?

The "Never" selection still allows some devices to go into Standby. In the
Power Options screens, check the time limits designated for each device
and change those to never as well.

Screensavers will still run. If you do not want a screensaver: select None
in Display> Screensavers. Also on this same settings page: If you want a
screensaver but do not like being prompted for a password, uncheck the
box next to "On resume, password protect."
