I'm trying to install SP2 on a machine. I just did a XP
PRo SP1 install on the machine and did a full format. I
downloaded the Network install of SP2 and am trying to
install it off a CD. I've used this install on many other
computers with no problem, but on this computer it keeps
on freezing up in the middle of the install. It gets to
the point where it says Running Processes (or something
along those lines) and then it just stops there, I've left
it over night and still it doesn't progress. The only
thing I can do is just hard reset the machine then reboot.
This is an HP with a 2.53GHz Intel P4 with 512 of memory
DDR, intergrated gfx. The usual fare. The only thing that
is odd is that I had to replace the HDD in this unit. It
had the factory default HDD (SeaGate 80 gig) because it
was causing problems. It wouldn't format and it would just
appear to freeze up, I couldn't even chkdisk it without
problems. So I replaced the HDD with a brand new WD 80 gig
SE. Then I could format without any problems, but I still
get the same SP2 freeze install like I did on the old
Seagate. Has anyone had this happen to them?

Wait figured out my own problem, the CD-Rom drive was
messed up, so it wasn't reading things right and messed
up. All better now.
