In order to use USB 2.0 ports with a USB 2.0 device must
one use a special USB 2.0 cable or will the device work
at USB 2.0 speeds with a standard USB cable?

There's a multitude of answers on this. It seems to boil down to "It
depends on the device" and since you can't really know, for best results and
to rule out the possibility an issue is due to the cable should an issue
arise, it's best to use a USB 2.0 cable with a USB 2.0 device.

Get the cable that is certified for USB 2.0. They are backwards compatible
to USB 1.1. These cables are now available in most office supply stores,
computer stores, even at Wal-Mart.
