Installing SP2

Hello from Jockland.!! This failed the 1st time I tried when my PC was
restarting (a relative novice I am...) but think it may have failed due to
not turning off Norton a/v and firewall. However a lot of my device drivers
needed upgraded to XP versions but when I tried to install a nVidia TNT Riva
driver, it failed in exact same place AND Norton had been dis-abled. Any
clues out there to whats causing this to fail? My processors is a Pentium
III and the MS article about fialing on this step does not seem to apply.

Try doing a system restore and installing SP2 again.
