I have some pointless small software on my computer and
am not able to properly remove it as the software is not
listed in "Add or Remove Programs" in the Control Panel.
Is there a way to properly remove this kind of software
and not have to manually delete the files related to the
software in "Program Files".
Thanks for any information in advance.

First, check to see if the application has its own uninstall routine.
Usually, if there is and a shortcut was installed with the application on
the start menu, one will be included that says "Uninstall." If not, you can
trek on over to the McAfee web site, I believe it is www.mcafee.com. Look
for Uninstaller, a terrific app for this type of situation. They have a
downloadable evaluation copy that is fully functional. You can use that for
this purpose. You will have to fill out some personal information and they
then send a code to your e-mail with a link for downloading.

I understood that if the program does not have it's own uninstall and is not
on the Add/remove programs in Control Panel, you can jsut delete the file.
You may have to search through the registry by using regedit find/find next
and delete (backup reistry first !!)
I have had to do this with some programs with simlar situations as yours
If anyone believes I am incorrect please notify in this post

Many programs don't have uninstall routines but if these apps are installed
apps as opposed to those that run from a simple exe with no other installed
files, there will be files and DLLs all over the system and mucking about in
the registry trying delete all related entries is dangerous. Much safer to
use a uninstaller program. Even though they can be aggressive, sometimes
too aggressive, they usually have an undo feature. Uninstaller, from
McAfee, the app I suggested has this feature turned on by default.
If you try to do this manually on your own, you are practically asking for
trouble. In fact, to make absolutely sure an uninstall program sees all the
entries, you can reinstall the program you are trying to remove while, let
the uninstaller program monitor the installation and that way there's a much
better chance of finding all files and related entries.
