where has my task bar gone

I've got 2 users on my computer everything is hunky dory
on my side the other side well its a mess no task bar for
1 also on my side the background picture fills the screen
and on the other side its in some kind of XP bar to the
left that is not really responsive to any thing and there
is no start Ive tried everything to change apperence well
as much as i dare to no avail any help would well help

1.) Check to see if the screen resolution is the same for both users? The
monitor may have just placed the taskbar off of the screen.
2.) Hit the windows key and see if the start menu appears. If not we're in
trouble. Reply back if that doesn't work.
3.) Make sure the taskbar isn't in auto-hide mode. Move the mouse near the
edges of the screen to see if it appears. Remember the taskbar can be
positioned at any edge of the screen.
4.) While moving the mouse near the edges of the screen see if the cursor
changed to the drag cursor. You might have accidentally dragged the taskbar
off of the screen. In this case drag it back.

I'm suspecting that it is hiding on one of the edges of your screen. Once
you get it back where you want it, right click on it, click on properties
and select "Lock the Taskbar"

Reply back if none of these work.
