XP home appears to duplicate my stored password either in
front of or behind my password. Say I use 1234 as a
password. XP changes it to ******** , which I assume to
be 12341234
Any suggestions on how I can get this to stop happening?
Thank You

Rich,
You passwords are not duplicating. This is a security "feature" of the XP
(and win2000), that makes the stored passwords always displays in fixed
length (fixed number of *), thas making harder to figure out the length of
password for someone that is trying to crack it.
