Unable to install SP2

Trying to install SP2 both as downlaod and from CD PC
reports "Unable to read or write to database"
Install then aborts.
Any ideas much appreicated

Its now getting alot more serious.
After reboot hard drive not found by Bios.
Recovered by flashing the bios.
After start up SP2 started to reinstall then after reboot
Isass.exe error.

No virus with Nortn scan!!

I am going to run a repir the XP!

Any ideas much appreicated
