When try to install sp2 I get this message:
Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested
page. You may find the following resources helpful in resolving the problem:
My computer is being seriously attacked and I've done everything people have
suggested. Ran ad-aware and spyhunter in safe mode. Removed malware in
add/remove programs. I also have some programs that aren't in add/remove
programs or program files that I can't remove. Ran disk clean up, deleted all
cookies and temp files. What am I doing wrong.
PLEASE HELP!!

Hi Sherry,
Locate the WindowsUpdate.log file under \Windows or \Winnt. Open it and
scroll to the bottom. Look at the error codes and compare them against this
site, or post back here with the relevant section of the log (just
copy/paste it into a reply, don't attach the log):

I found out that it was my firewall that was not allowing windows update to
open the page, but now I can't find sp2. Does it say sp2 like it did for sp1?
Also, is there a way to stop getting spam or whatever you call it (those
programs that put themselves on my comp) for good?

Hi Sherry,
It'd say SP2, but you can grab it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en
It's a whopper at 266MB. The Auto-update version (aka the Express version)
will be smaller as it will only download the parts you need. The full
network version contains everything, including all critical updates since
XP's original release, many of which you probably already have.
Only good surfing habits will prevent the installation of more garbage. All
users of the system must pay attention to what they are installing, and
watch what they are clicking on and agreeing to when surfing web pages.
