Problem description:
SP2 Firewall cannot seem to be disabled, so if firewall on Norton IS is On,
then the internet is not available. Under Windows Firewall, General tab, I
can select OFF and yet when I click OK, the Firewall is still on when
looking in Windows Security Center.

Also, there is supposed to be a Recommendations link in Firewall, but it
doesn't exist.Kim Oppalfens message on 7/28/04 1:58AM about "Cannot Disable
XP Firewall"

>Click start; run & type mmc.exe enter
>In the file menu of this program select add/remove snap-in
>press the add button & double click the Group policy setting.
>Click ok; It should autoselect your local computer; press finish
>press close; press ok

does not work since there is no Group Policy setting in the snap-in area.

Computer:
Athlon XP1700+, 512MB ram, 160GB hdd, Comcast Broadband with USB connection.

Workaround:
If I disable Firewall under Norton Internet Security, and SP2 firewall is
enabled, then everything works fine.

I'd rather use Norton tho.

Any ideas?

If you are running Norton firewall and you turn SP2 firewall off, Windows
Security will still show the firewall running.. it will, however be the
Norton firewall..
