For the past week the icon for Microsoft Windows Update has appeared on the
bottom of my taskbar saying: downloading updates: 0%.
My computer is set to receive security & critical updates automatically.

In the past it would ask me if I wanted to download updates now, I'd click
yes and it would do it's thing and disappear until the next time.

Can someone explain why it just sits there now?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I disabled my Automatic Update service. I had the same thing (0%) after I
updated everything but SP2. Many firewalls are blocking automatic updates
because of the Service Pack 2 issues. I don't want this automatically
installed just yet.
