Hi...

I just got finished downloading "Three Stooges Theme." I
read the .txt file and it is asking me to do "Theme
Installation"; "The Logos"; "The Screensavers" that I am
just not familiar in doing with Windows XP...

Isn't there a Windows wizard that will assist/help me in
performing the following tasks - steps: 1, 2 & 3:

1) Theme Installation...
Make a new folder called "Three Stooges" in my Plus!
\Themes Directory and move Theme files to
Themes/Installation. When I want to Run the Theme,
go to Control Panel and then to Themes...

2) The Logos...
Put the Logo.sys in C:\
Put the Logos.sys and Logow.sys in C:\Windows.
Back up my old Logos.sys & Logow.sys first, before
performing this task...

3) The Screensavers...
Just click on the .exe to install the screensaver...

4.) Wallpaper & Screensavers...

There are some more screensavers and wallpapers that
are available of the same Theme... How do I download
and install them so that they work in conjunction
with "Three Stooges."

As I said earlier - We have just done an upgrade to
Windows XP Home Edition. I remember doing something
similiar, but that is when I was using Windows '95. XP
is allot more intelligent and it does allot of the tasks
that you used to do with older Window versions...

Can somone out there assist me in the process thereof
and/or in a step by step instructions on how to perform
the above task. So that I can enjoy "The Three
Stooges." If you are a Three Stooges fan then you will
know what I am speaking of...

I have done a reboot and the new Theme has not come up as
the default. Or do I just have to go into...(Which one?
Where? How? Is it in my control panel? ) and tell my
computer that "Three Stooges" is going to be my new
default... Would that resolve this task...

Thank you very much for all of your help...

I am the registered owner of the original copy that I
just purchase here in Israel for a legitimate Computer
store here in Israel of Windows XP - which enables me to
get all the support I need in any manner that I so
choose... Sorry for being so blunt about this part...

Thank you,

Brad Friedman

It is obviously not Windows XP compatible. The files 'logo.sys' and
'logow.sys' don't exist under XP. You cannot run many Windows 9x themes
under XP. Reputable theme sites, such as www.themedoctor.com mark Windows XP
compatible themes as such. I suggest visiting that site and choosing another
theme.

I don't doubt that you are a legitimate licencee (sorry to be pedantic, but
you don't own XP, merely a licence to use it), and the support that comes
with that licence (2 free incidents then pay support after that) does not
enable you to "get all the support I need in any manner that you so choose"
and it certainly does /NOT/ entitle you to support with a third-party
desktop theme.

Download from here
http://www.ezthemes.com/wm0.phtml?threestooges.zip+html+http://www.ezskins.com/stats.phtml
The download contains a .ZIP file. But it tries to install Bonzai Buddy and
another program first. You can just delete the shortcut to Bonzai Buddy the
ends up on your Desktop and in the Start menu as they just point to
websites. Also ensure that you read the install program as it also tries to
install another app - called "Precision Time and Date Manager". You can
uncheck the box to not allow this to be installed.

The download will open a Zip folder. Unzip to "C:\Program
Files\Plus!\Theme\Three Stooges"
Then open the folder and move the two .THEME files back one level into
"C:\Program Files\Plus!\Theme"
Right click the Desktop and select Properties
In the Display box you can set the Theme to Three Stooges.

BTW your license give you support from Microsoft. These newsgroups provide
peer-peer support. If you want Microsoft Tech Support contact the number
that came with your license. --
