im having trouble deleting a file. It says
"can't delete: access is denied.
Make sure the disc is not full or write-protected and
that the file is ot currently in use."
the file isn't in use and i'm not sure if it's write
protected or full. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Troy,
Delete the file in Safe Mode
or
Open Task Manager end task "explorer.exe", attempt to delete the file now.
If this does not help, Use process explorer (www.sysinternals.com) to see
which process has locked that file.
Also, see:

Usually that means some program is using the file or it is locked by a
program that has exited under not so normal conditions. If it isn't a system
file you should be able to delete it after a reboot.
