SP2 causes certificate failure

I have a cert failure on a site that shouldn't. The owner of the cert says
that the cert is valid but since SP2 they have been having problems like
this.
Is there any way to bypass the cert failure when browsing to the page? It
downloads an activeX file and then displayed the error that the download was
blocked because the cert was invalid or expired.

It's an advanced settings of Internet Explorer in the Security
category. However, I wouldn't disable Certificate revocation
checking. It might allow the site to be displayed, but it's not a
long term solution.
