My screen shape and size?

I was working in Internet Explorer, and I hit some key,
not exactly sure which, but somewhere around the ctrl or
alt key and space bar, and my screen size and shape
changed. It shrunk and narrowed, and now won't resume its
shape. Objects on the screen appear stretched vertically.
The task bars below and above are stratched off the
desktop - hard to close windows, etc. Not sure how I did
this or how to get it back. Not sure of I did it or some
internal bug. Retsarted computer, ran virus. I'm hoping I
hit some shortcut key by mistake and this is an easy
fix???

It sounds like you need to adjust the picture on your monitor using the
hardware controls on the monitor.

(You may say that you never adjusted your monitor settings in the first
place; however, it's possible that you changed your screen resolution, which
will cause you monitor to use different size settings.)
