Turn off automatically restart on error and post back with the exact
error message.
Right click My Computer, choose properties, advanced, startup and
recovery settings. Untick automatically restart.

Sounds to me as if the screen saver comes on and then when you reactivate the
computer you simply have to log in.

No... it actually restarts Windows. I unchecked the "auto restart" box as
Rock previously recommended - we'll see what the real error is now.

Did you turn off automatic restart and get the specific error message?
Post it here.

If you also downloaded the eTrust Armor software that was given free to all
Windows XP users and choosed to install both Antivirus and Firewall.
NOTE! The problem is the firewall software. Funny that microsoft gives away
free software that does not work with winxp with (sp2) installed.
Well there are a solution for this.
In Boot.ini on your BOOTDRIVE change the line:
Noexecute=Optin
To this line instead:
Noexecute=alwaysoff
Well that was all. This could also help other softwares too, but that is
only a speculation. Goodluck.
