I just dowloaded and installed SP2 everything went fine then....
When I tried to logon to the internet I found my login username and password
had changed. Put them back to correct settings etc... reboot and voila!
they've changed again. Anyone suffering this problem?
Tried removing all connection settings and modem then reinstalling, reboot
etc, changed again!
Another query, When I do connect I can browse 3 or 4 pages and the nothing,
page not found etc., log off change settings back on and browse 3 or 4 pages
later same thing?
Checked all the new firewall settings, allowed all programs etc.
Pages are also taking forever to download too, I do have an ADSL connection,
but about 20 seconds to open a Google search window is a bit slow!
At least some4thing seems to work, Windows restore, back to how I was
yesterday and everything seems fine.........all replies
welcome..............Think I might wait for SP2 on CD and install it after a
format of the hard drive before I install anything!

had a similar problem, as well as my neighbor. Had to uninstall SP2 to fix
the issue. Both of us couldn't gog on to the Web. (I have VZ DSL, he has
Comcast) I think there's a hotfix for the proble (loopback issue?) but I
think I'll wait until I know the problems fixed. Anyone else?

I think I am having the same problems....I have problems connecting to web
pages just like you, my logon info for my net service keeps saying invalid
username and password (have to reset them) and having shutdown problems
(comp won't shutdown automatically like it used to).
