my pc was shuting down automatically when i try to connect
the server. I tried to run fixblat.exe but it is stoping
when it scan an mp3 file in shared folder. tried to
delete this file but there is no delete option when right
click this file (other files in this folder is normal). I
run macafee antivirus, & removal tool stinger but no virus
detected. I dont want to format my HDD because I have got
a lot of programes & data in it. Please help

Can you rename the file? Try renaming the file and change the extension,
make it txt, then select the file, right click and see if you can delete it.

I'm sorry about the problem, please see the third line in my signature. It

See www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_qr.htm#rpc for a small download that will
search out the known variants of Blaster and remove them from your system.
Then update your AV Software and rescan your system.

Here are a few steps that I would take:

1) Disconnect your machine from the network
2) Turn off System Restore (if you are running xp)
3) Run your stinger again
4) Make sure you don't see msblast.exe in your task manager
5) Download and run the MS patch 823980 (i believe that is it)
6) Reboot
7) Reconnect your network cable

Now you should be completely rid of the virus, and it should scan all
including your mp3s.
