After updating my system with service pack 2, I have got a strange problem.
Everything seems to work fine except a few things. In control panel, when I
try to use administrative tools nothing happens. Every shortcut gives the
same message: Can't open this file. (in Norwegian) When I open the shortcut
one of them looks like this: %SystemRoot%\system32\compmgmt.msc /s Start
in: %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%.

The same happens when I try to run defragmentation. "The program defrag is
not installed."

Any idea what I can to resolve the problems?

Thanks for all help.

I would install xp cd,exit the info page,go to run, type:cmd In cmd type:
Sfc /Scannow When the graph is thru type:CHKDSK C: /F Agree to restart,
then type:EXIT Restart computer.%HOMEDRIVE% Returns the users drive
letter to thehome directory,%HOMEPATH% Returns the full path of the users
home directory,%SYSTEMROOT% Returns the location of xps root directory.
