View Full Version : Media Player 9 crashes after SP2 installation

Hello all,
After I've installed SP2, I can no longer watch movies
using Windows Media Player v9. Whenever I start a movie,
both media player and windows explorer crash.
This also happens when I try to view a folder in which the
movie files inside are in thumbnail view (in which the
icon shows the first frame of the movie).
Does anyone have an idea as to what I can do to fix this?
Thank you.

Change Divx codecs--some of the older codecs crash SP2.

Well, you could download Media Player 10,which has been out for a while,
and install over 9... Worth a try anyway.
