Hello. Can anyone assist. I have a home PC runiing Win
XP Home. All is fine until I try to log-off. I go
through 'start', 'log-off' - and normally it will go
through it's shut down procedure and the whole process
would normally take 2 - 3 minutes beforw closing down
completely.

Now - when I go to log off the PC does not close down abd
after about 20 minutes or so I get a message of "other
users are still logged on and closing down will cut them
off" (or words to that effect). I select 'yes' and the PC
closes down.

There are only two profiles setup on the PC but only one
is ever used.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Try to do a re-format clean install of XP. Once installed install SP2,
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/windowsxp/choose.aspx, a
Clean install will probably make your boot times a lot quicker. Also install
an Anti-Virus. Hopefully your boot times with a clean install will be a lot
quicker.

Hold it! No reinstall is needed for this minor problem. All you need to do is
a little trouble shooting. A reinstall, depending on other applications you
have
installed, could take several days to do a complete recovery. Go here first:
