Programs cannot write to CDs after SP2 was installed. I can write ISO's,
but the sync to CD, write to CDs doesn't work anymore.

Justin, I don't think the OP needs to uninstall Service Pack 2. This
should never be the first troubleshooting step. And please quote some
of the original post for clarity when you respond.
To the OP - If you are making .iso's, then you are using third-party
burning software like Nero or Roxio. Go to that mftr.'s website and
look for a patch for your program. Nero, for instance, has patches for
its programs to make them compatible with SP2. Download them, install,
and your burning should work again.

To use a CD as output medium from a program you need third party 'packet
writing' software like In CD; Direct CD (aka Drag to Disk) or DLA. You
presumably had one of these and it needs to be reinstalled
