View Full Version : Master or slave

Well, first of all, chances are unless you installed them
yourself, the drives are configured for master on top and
slave on bottom. Most likely. However to be sure, go to
the device manager and find out the names of the
respective drives. You do that by holding the Windows
key and pressing the pause/break button above the page up
key. That will bring you to the computer properties.
There is a tab that says hardware. Once clicking that,
you will see a button saying device manager. Once it is
open, there is a listing for CD ROM drives, and there it
will have them both listed. Once you note the names,
restart your computer and as the BIOS screen pops up, it
should say which drives are master and slave. If it does
not, you can enter the BIOS, and it will definately tell
you there. To get into the BIOS, after restarting, when
the memory test is running, press the delete key serveral
times and it will boot you into the BIOS. The main page
should tell you which drives are which. It is really
easier than it sounds...
