Windows xp pro sp2 rtm Soft modem issue

My problem is that after trying sp2 almost ever thing was better except my
connection speed I noticed the soft modem had been upgraded the old one
connects regularly at 44 kbs and 48 kbs the new one 24 kbs and 28kbs max
except when I connect with AOL it will connect at like 49 kbs are there any
switches for the soft modems in sp2 are any solutions for just a plane
dialup configuration
The good modem is "Generic SoftK56" The sp2 modem is something like "V90
soft speaker phone modem" I noticed it doesnt say 56 any where in the
drivers name.

Get the latest Windows XP drivers.
