What happened to my taskbars?

Just recently, my taskbar went crazy. Usually, I have my
standard toolbars (that will show what ever windows I
have opened) and quick launch bars only. Now, I have two
of the same standard toolbars. That is, whatever I
opened, for example IE, I will see two IE windows
separated by the separator. It seems if I have two
desktops are running at the same time. If I have 2 IE
instances, then I will see 4 IE windows in the toolbar
area!

I tried system restore, and it solved the problem. But
the thing is that once my WinXP Pro has been retored to
the previous point, it would tell me that nothing has
changed since the last save point, which tells me that I
didn't install any program or messed my WinXP Pro up.

Well, this problem happens now and then. Usually, it
will appear when I just start my computer and I always
have to have a system restore (very annoying and don't
know the cause of the problem). It has happened 5-6
times now in a month. Is my registry messed up? Do I
need to reinstall my WinXP Pro? Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated!
