Outlook print sizw

Trivial question I assume. I have been using outlook
express and when viewing e-mails the text size is quite
small 9pt and has always printed out at this size too -
recently everything looks the correct size on screen yet
when printing out is is much larger maybe 16pt I guess.
Not much of a problem I know but I am usuing paper up at
a rate of knots - can anyone help? I have looked through
most of the settings and can't find anything relevant.
