Miha,

By the sounds of everyone here that is experiencing SOOO many problems, I'd
say it's not all it's cracked up to be. I WON'T be installing it!!!

What you see posted her are the problems. For the vast majority, with
proper preparation the upgrade goes just fine.

Reluctance in this case is a fear of a damaged or non-functional XP
setup. This comes from previous MS Service Packs which had a
history of "Unanticipated Results" or bugs. This certainly isn't the
case at all with Service Pack 2. If you make use of Imaging on your
system partition you have a Fall-Back in case SP2 doesn't work up
to your expectations. Just 30-minutes of some routine maintenance
will help ensure the install goes smoothly.

Early adopters of both Hardware and Software open themselves
up to locating unknown issues. However, SP2 has been around for
a month now and other than some program compatibilities, there
hasn't been a single "Show Stopper" bug found in Service Pack 2.

The GDIPLUS.DLL file distributed with XPSP2 is not vulnerable to the
MS04-028 exploit, though software running on XPSP2 and which uses it's own
GDIPLUS.DLL file may be.
