View Full Version : upgrading from unbootable XP Home Ed to XP Pro

December 5th 03, 01:37 AM
My eMachine PC came preinstalled with XP Home Edition
and a CD that would only do a complete preconfigured
XP Home Edition. Now more than year later, my
PC is not bootable with all the combinations that XP home
Ed. displays (i.e. last known good config, safe mode,
etc.).
I do not want to use emachine's version of XP Home edition
to fix this because it would reformat the hard drive and
wipe out all my data on the hard drive.
If I buy a XP PRo - Upgrade version, would it be able to
upgrade my PC from an aunbootable state of XP Home Ed.
to a bootable state of XP Pro ?
