someone please help me! bought this new computer w/xp a
friend came over and since then i have been noticing
strange things, since I am somewhat of a beginner the tech
terms are very confusing. I just want things to run
correctly again. O.K. first when I turn on my computer a
message comes up by our names
saying "Cwindows/system32/winofigy.dll what is this.
Originally I had NTSF system. can someone help me make
clear sense of this?

Hi Marie,

Could you recheck your spelling of the term "winofigy.dll"? I can find
nothing by that name.

Also, start/run msconfig and go to the startup tab. Is there any line here
loading that file name?

Hello Marie,

"Executing ... notify.dll"

To disable "Verbose" mode on startup,

1)- launch Windows Registry Editor via

[Start]
|Run|
regedit
[Enter]

2)- Navigate to this key...

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\policies\system]

3)- Either delete this data value,
or set the value to 0 (zero)

"VerboseStatus"=dword:00000001
