How do I stop My Computer window from showing up each time
windows starts. I always exit the window on shut down but
it always is opened on startup.

Address Bar? - The "My Computer" folder is just opened on
the desktop - there is no browser window with an address
bar. Can you explain - thanks!

Even Windows Explorer has an address bar, it shows what folder Windows
Explorer is opened to. Usually the folder name is also shown in the title
bar. Is there a specific folder that the window is opened to, or just My
Computer?

Right click the desktop and choose Properties.
On the Desktop tab click Customize Desktop.
Uncheck what you don't want showing.

Thanks -but nothing was checked off there - I fixed it by
restoring the system to a previous date - very strange...
