View Full Version : Application Error "cannot get stats" and "Main Window Initialization Failed"

I have had problems ever since I installed windows XP
Professional. For one thing I have a Compaw Presario 5000
and did not know that Windows 98 was an embedded feature.
I have finally got that fixed and had updated the bios.
Recently though I have begun to have constant freeze ups
when I connect to the internet. I have contacted all
parties software, hardware, etc. and they tell me they
cannot help me. Just this week I started getting the
messages after startup and log on "Cannot get stats"
and "Main Window Initialization Failed". Can anyone tell
me what the problem is and how do I fix it? I would be
eternally grateful.

The error you are receiving is not coming from Windows itself; rather, it is
probably coming from a program that launches at startup.

You can use the "MSCONFIG" utility to try to isolate which program is
throwing the error:
