Will someone please advise me how to print a list of the
files contained in a folder. It seems that I was able to
do it easily in Windows 98.

Hi Judy,
Click [Start] [Run] [Cmd]
Goto the appropriate directory.
Type "Dir /b >list.txt"
[include "/s" for sub-directories listing]
Open List.txt in notepad and print the contents.

Many methods to do this. I like using a little third party program (free)
called Directory Printer:

suggestion
i got a cheap and very helpful program called "file and
mp3 renamer at http://lcen.com/. it has a file list and
edit list function. Its main purpose is to rename
bunches of files.
