I have a new notebook computer with Windows XP home edition
updated to SP1. I have a problem with Windows File Explorer
locking-up. When I open Windows Explorer I am able to
browse through all my files and folders, run executable
files and open other files by double clicking on them. I
can also use all of the menu items except "File". If I try
to access the "File" menu item or right-click on a file
Explorer locks up. I can then only close it using the Task
Manager. This has happened several times and I have used
System Restore which has fixed the problem but only until
the next re-boot. Now, however, System Restore is not
working despite going back to a point where I know Explorer
was working. Any ideas on what could be causing this and
how to fix it would be appreciated.
