XP SP2

Installed SP2 on the weekend and now my computer is
freezing up ALOT! Tried to restore to previous XP
(without patch) and the damn thing turned off my restore
so now I cannot restore to a previous point. How can I
get rid of this SP2, cause I cannot find a fix for the
freezing problem. If I reinstall Win XP will that take
it back to the original XP?
