Problem: WinXP suddenly terminated my running programs(IE, Matlab,etc.)

Hi,

I just installed WinXp Pro in my PC and encountered a serious problem
immediately. When I was running some applications, such as IE and Matlab,
after few minutes, they are terminated suddenly without any warning or error
message. This really bothers me a lot. I would appreciate it if anybody
could help me.

What is MatLab?

Did your computer meet all the Windows XP compatibility
requirements?

Did the MatLab software meet the Windows XP compatibility
requirements?

Were you only running MatLab and IE, or did you also have on an
antivirus
program, a firewall, a chat client, an email/newsreader client,
etc.? And,
how many IE windows did you have open?

What are the memory requirements of MatLab? What was it doing
when
Windows XP terminated the program(s) that you were running
simultaneously?

You say you just installed Windows XP Professional Edition. Did
that process
go smoothly? What were the glitches (if any) that you
experienced during the
installation of Windows XP?

What file-system are you using on your computer's hard-drive?
Did you leave
the Indexing Service, the Smart Card Services, and all the other
extraneous
Windows XP services (which can be configured by typing
"services.msc" in
the Run dialog box) running?

Please fix your clock you are posting from the future - your headers state
you're in Singapore, yet your time zone is set to North American Pacific
Time. (-0800) you need to set it to +0800. Before you say "but I am ahead
of you!" that's immaterial, the clock is adjusted to the reader's zone and I
know mine is correct, therefore yours cannot be (and isn't).
