Hi,

I just installed SP2 on my computer a few days ago and I
found some problems that really frustrated me.

Here is the problem:

The connection speed to the internet drastically gone down
from 1mb to about 10kbps. I have tried every setting to
optimize the connection speed, turned off the firewall,
and I even tried to solve this issue at diffent time of
the day so to make sure it's not caused by the traffic jam
on the internet but nothing seems to be working.

Can anyone please kindly teach me how to solve this
problem?

Thanks you,
Chris

How do you connect, Chris? Is a router involved?

Win SP1 had 50 ports open, Win SP2 cut the number to 10 ports ! I have heard
about one fix that resets it 50 ports, its on the WWW, its not a Microsoft
update though and wether it works or not I dont know.

PA Bear,

Yes, I am connecting throught a router. Even I tried to
connect to the internet without a router, the problem
still exists.

More and more, we're seeing the install of SP2 revealing 'malware' that lain
hidden and unrecognized in SP1 or WinXP. Note that SP2 usually doesn't
cause the problem you're having.

Here's the short version. Post back (or look around this newsgroup <w>) for
the longer one:
