View Full Version : Black Cursor

Hi,
I have a black cursor in some programs, but not
all. In Windows and Outlook the cursor remains white.
I've tried all the settings I can find to set the
cursor color to what would be considered "normal"
and still, in some programs, it turns black. I even tried
turning the shadows on and off to no avail.
Cursor colors are not optional settings in the affected
programs, so it can't be the programs.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Mark

Could you please list the programs in which the cursor changes colour.

Hi Ray,
AutoCAD R2000 and Solid Works 2001 are the
programs where I see the issue.
In AutoCAD, with a black background, having a black
cursor is quite a nuisance.
Thanks for your reply,
Mark

I'm using Win XP Pro and MS Office XP Pro.
Neither of those have the "black cursor" issue.
Thanks again,
Mark

Hi David,
If you mean the crosshairs, mine are also white.
It's really the pan-hand in AC2000. Also when
going to click on a button in Norton AV, Outlook
and some others.
Thanks for the reply,
Mark

Mark, check the options in the programs that have the different colored
cursors. You may find a preference setting. I have two graphic programs
that allow such a choice. I can choose a color or select "use Windows
settings." Perhaps these programs you're using have something similar?

Thanks Sharon,
I checked the individual programs and there are
no special mouse / pointer features that would
cause this issue. I re-installed XP Pro and that
didn't help either. It's system wide, whatever it is
that's causing this. Mouse shadow, etc. no help.
I'll keep working at it though.
Thanks again,
Mark
